Creating The Space To Work Determines The Work
The photo shows a part of my studio in Roberts Creek Fortunately, I can clean up my space. I do have somewhere else to move the paints and brushes, and I have occasionally even operated in a clean studio. But I’m often just so into the actual art work that I forget to prepare. Sometimes a big mistake!
But now I am in Montreal, and I have no studio there. When the weather is nice I can paint in the backyard or otherwise very carefully on the dining room table. This more considered approach changes what I do, somehow, and it is working out, but clearly stops me from doing the bigger work.
I am also thankful that I am not doing sculpture at the moment!
